The founder
Brian Caudill
I've spent more than twenty years at the intersection of eLearning standards and software engineering. I was present in the working groups when SCORM was being written, and I hold one of only nine SCORM auditor certifications in the world. Over that time I developed deep expertise in SCORM, xAPI, AICC, and cmi5: not just how the standards work, but what happens to content when organizations lose the source files, inherit a library they don't understand, or need to reach audiences and formats they never planned for.
What I've seen, over and over, is that the most expensive eLearning problem isn't building new content. It's losing access to content you've already built. Source files go missing. Developers leave. Formats become obsolete. Organizations end up paying twice, three times, ten times for work they've already done. That's the problem Actyra is built to solve.
Over that time I've worked with organizations across defense, enterprise, and higher education, building and repairing content systems for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Northrop Grumman, Stanford, LexisNexis, FlightSafety, and many others. The problems are always different. The underlying content and standards issues usually aren't.
I founded Actyra with a clear sense of what I wanted to build: a practice that combines deep standards expertise with structured methodology and AI-assisted tooling — so the work scales without losing the quality that comes from actually knowing the spec. No large firm overhead, no generalist proxies. Just expert knowledge, applied systematically.

What drives us
Three things we won't compromise on.
You own your content
When you pay to create a course, you should be able to edit, update, and repurpose it, regardless of who built it or what files they left behind. Source files shouldn't be held hostage. Formats shouldn't create permanent lock-in. We believe organizations own their content, not just the ability to play it back.
Depth over scale
We don't try to be everything to everyone. We take fewer engagements and go deeper. That's the only way to do this kind of work well.
Honest expertise
If we can't solve your problem, we'll tell you. If your problem is bigger than what an audit reveals, we'll show you exactly why. No upsell theater.
